they just want the article out
because then political enemies can reference/use it as an outside external source of media information
and these people just want any allegation out there to be able to use and say ‘we didn’t make it up, the media reported it’
so when it gets proven false, they have plausible deniability
and the ‘seriousness of the allegation’ is why they took it so seriously, forget it wasn’t true
well we didn’t know that then, the media vouched for the ‘anonymous sources’ and we trusted them
LOL, I hear you. Back in high school, it took our local detective all of 2 minutes to smoke out my lie, so I get that.
But you and people like you won’t get to interview/interrogate these clowns, even if they are identified - much less having them under oath. They don’t have to convince you, they only have to convince 51% of the public, and with the media’s help, that is NOT difficult, at all.

An anonymous source is OK if you are aren’t trying to ruin someone’s reputation.

Since most of the people in the room have said “He didn’t say that.” It is evident that Mr. Goldberg didn’t bother to check. He should have called John Bolton to verify.
