Maura Moynihan is the daughter of US Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan who was a liberal, but a recognized stalwart of American foreign policy during the cold war. This tells you how far left the democratic party has drifted when she breaks with the party and recognizes that our China poicy has been a disaster.

But unlike the liberal pukes of today, he never gave up being a sincere patriot, and he was willing to take the arrows from the Left and say things that drove them crazy--such to let go of 1) race-baiting; and 2) further attempts to get more black folks on welfare.

He grew up Irish-poor in NYC, as I recall in a housing project. Went into the military, and later to Harvard, when it wasn't primarily an indoctrination center.
