Think what you want i do not think it should be an over the counter medication. People are so dug in politically they see the utility of the drug as a referendum on Trump. I just want the best for my patients politics aside. If it works great - but I have not seen convincing evidence of that in the patient population I treat (hospitalized patients). routinely monitoring the QT interval in such patients caused us to discontinue it in a fair amount of patients. Whether you believe it or not a prolonged QT interval is a risk for some very nasty cardiac arrhythmias.

Even before this I have seen drugs that everyone knew worked turn out to be killing people when the studies were finally done. Read about a drug called xigris if you are interested I personally do not have a dog in the hunt on hydroxychloroquine I am good with following the clinical studies. Like all therapies I hope it works but it certainly is not a magic bullet. Frankly the most promising therapy is the decadron.

Then you refuse to look at the evidence. The clinical trials that you seem to turn to for evidence were bogus, designed to fail and that evidence is available to anyone who cares to look at it.

The study the VA issued was absolutely fraudulently performed. Clearly the treatment is not meant to be a last resort medication and needs to be used as a three part treatment, none of those protocols were followed. Care to look how many doses of HCQ the VA issues every month, maybe that would give you a hint at hoe fraudulent the VA test really is.

Look at the study released by Spain, said the had a 30% less death rate when administered properly, care to tell us what the requirement are for the FDA to declare a treatment a miracle drug?

I have had PVCs for as long as I can remember, 75 years, probably all my 82 years. I would certainly take a drug combination with risk a 30% success rate as opposed to 100% death rate for people my age. But of course I don't have that choice, do I?
