Well a 100 years ago was 1920 so perhaps children born from 1880 to 1910 or so were as you describe. Children born in 1920 had much different outcomes as medicine was making huge strides then...at least in the Western nations.
Not a criticism though. As an adult I still think of farms and horse and buggy as 100 years ago as I did say as of 25 years ago in 1995. I realised recently I have to start saying “150 years ago” for some historical perspectives I try to draw from. Getting old I guess...
Not an anti-vaxer, certain ones work well. No way in HELL will I take this vaccine. Last 1 was Swine Flu, ER trip due to 2 weeks of bathroom hell. IV for dehydration as I do know how to treat it. Specialist advised no more vaccines, to many health issues.
Better to have required vaccination with FDA-approved safe and effective vaccines than no return to REAL normal!!!!

Actually the Phase 3 trial requires 30000 participants so there is some time lag as people volunteer and are cleared through the process. First shots to some were given in late July and the second shot 29 days later was thus in late August. As of last week they still need volunteers for the Moderna mRNA version and were still giving first shots. That being said the phase 3 participants are likely reaching a stage where a statistically significant number have been exposed and I would suspect the placebo group contracting the disease vs what is happening to the group actually receiving the vaccine is giving early indications of effectiveness. It would not be surprising at all for a reasonable conclusion being sustainable in mid October with the data Avalilable to back it up. Phase 3 participants will be providing data for 24 months, and there’s no way we can wait 2 years for the full study completion.
So, we could be in for a big surprise ...

LOL... you inadvertently revealed that you are a relative youngster compared to many if not most in this forum. When I was a kid my parents announced that they were taking us over to their friend's house so we could catch chicken pox from their kids so we would be immune when we got older when it would be a problem. That was the equivalent to a vaccine at that time.
If science really mattered Hydroxychloroquine would be available to anyone who wants it.
How many ulcer surgeries were carried out long after we knew ulcers were caused by bacteria, treatable with antibiotics? Which one made the Dr. more money, just asking?
I don't know that doctors benefit by prescribing Statins, but it's an accepted practice. Statins will lower your cholesterol numbers, but as far as I know it hasn't been shown to change overall mortality.

The decision to not allow the use of Hydroxychloroquine is purely political not medically scientific and any honest assessment of existing data it should be apparent to anyone with scientific training.
The fact is we have a 75 year history with this medication showing it is basically harmless, I suspect Tylenol is more dangerous. The claim it is dangerous is pure B$ that I believe was designed to increase the death statistics to harm Trump. The fact that Oregon(entire state) and L A, CA have both announced that schools will not open until after the election shows the true motivation.
Me either. The modern stents work wonders, had mine for over 10 years. I was a walking dead man with 95% blockage of the widow make artery as well as a bunch of other arteries that needed stents. In for angio in the morning playing a poker tournament at 6:00 that evening.
I have since modified my diet to a slightly dirty version of Keto which keeps triglycerides and A1c in check. I drink 6 to 8 cups of strong coffee with about 4 oz of heavy cream every morning, eggs, butter, steak and bacon galore. Had another angio about a year ago everything still ok doc said. Now 82 and slowed down considerable but doing fine otherwise. Anything that tastes good I can't have, other wise A1c shoots up to 12 and blood sugar over 500. Blood sugar still remains high but A1c was 5 last check.
