The president went on to claim that the vaccine could become available during the month of October....He added: The vaccine will be very safe and very effective. Trump slammed Democrats, saying they should apologize for the reckless anti-vaccine rhetoric, which he said undermines science and whats happening. Its a fake rhetoric and a political rhetoric, he added.

All my kids got vaccines. But neither they nor I have ever had a flu shot. My wife and sister did...and got the flu from it. I see the so-called COVID "vaccine" as akin to a flu shot.
excellent point
And if folks want to take the vaccine, then that is on them.
No how, no way should it be mandatory.
In fairness, I was incorrect about gas_dr having anything against it.
By the way, their are multiple vaccines, who is going to choose which one, "wins?"
I don’t disagree with your statement. Its not an either / or statement. Vaccines are as much as part of the continuum of medicine as treatment.
The beauty of multiple vaccines is found in the free market. Let there be a lot of competition — I believe that the free market should be the key determinant in medicine — otherwise you end up with the mess we have now.
I ask you as I have asked everyone else — please find a single instance where I have said it should be mandatory. You cannot, as I am for the freedom of the individual to choose.
thank you, FRiend
In my state, they haven't said they will make it mandatory, only virtually mandatory. They are saying it would be necessary if you want to work, etc.
My real opinion is that the vaccine is an exercise in comfort for the vast majority of people who dont care to do much more than have things spoon fed to them. If the vast majority of people think that the vaccine is effective — we return to normal immediately. The stats of the disease would state that 99% are “mild cases” and I agree with that. So are 99% of chicken pox cases, yet we vaccinate against that as well.
Once the vaccine is proffered, given the natural course of the disease, and inroads will make C-19 far less virulent and scary, and is the key to wide open normalcy, which I actually crave.
Do I think this virus is weaponized? Absolutely — so if there must be a political solution, this may be the one that gets us through the gates and back to normal.
As I have said I will get the vaccine as I am satisfied it has gone through the three phases, and on the frontline, I would like an additional measure of protection. If I could go to Moscow tomorrow and get their vaccine, I would be on the next plane.
Be well.
You have not said that it should be mandatory.
And I did not accuse You of stating it should be mandatory.
When did the Chicken Pox vaccine come out. When I was a kid you just got it, and that was the vaccine.
Vaccines are about population health, not individual health. But hey, go ahead and you be you
” I will get the vaccine as I am satisfied it has gone through the three phases, “
Yeah, and anyone who’s situation make that choice advisable is fine by me!
I’m in a position to wait for a while so I will.
Many others are not in that position.
You certainly did imply it. But I will take you at your word.
Chicken Pox vaccine came out around the mid 90’s if I recall correctly. When I was a kid we got it too — Something about chicken pox parties.
But most people are arguing that the vaccines have cut corners in the studies. This is untrue.
I’ve heard the parties. I had it about Kindergarten age, but my brother was only a baby. My grandfather had terrible shingles, though.
That is horrid!
Sorry.
There is so much flip flopping on the corona narrative that the people controlling the situation have lost all credibility.
Anyway, I hope one day we can all look back on this and laugh.
I had a pretty mild case compared with my sister apparently. However I still have a sky high titer as compared to my colleagues (younger) who had to be boosted on entry onto medical staff because they had insufficient immunity.
The disease certainly gives you the best immunity.
