Reminds me of the heat Reagan got when he went to Bitburg.

The heat Trump would have received from such a trip would have been several magnitudes over what Reagan received. One thing we know about the left: the word "reconciliation" is not found in their dictionary.

That's why Trump is the perfect President for today. Republicans are still trying to play by Marquis de Queensbury rules in a cage match era.

Heard the report by JG earlier today. Seems Trump may have been talking to a room full of perfumed princes calling them losers and suckers (my guess). The way Trump thinks is “Why the hell have you not won a war since WW2, you effing suckers and losers?”

As an “uninformed stupid civilian”, I would like to know why the hell we have not destroyed Afghanistan by now? We are in Afghanistan now close to 19 years. We destroyed Germany and nuked Japan in 4 short years. Why the hell was the same not been done to Afghanistan? Let me guess the “Military Complex”. What the hell do they teach at the War College anyways? It’s obviously not “WINNING”!

Translation: We have carefully scheduled drops coordinated with the DNC. We’ve got encouraging polls that Military dispargement hurts Trump with undecided (and easily manipulated) voters.

Even though they presented that quore as if from Trump himself, if I jeard correctly, that bit by KG was about what “sources” had said Trump said in a 2017 Pentagon. I do recall some stir in the press at the time, so this is not new, but being drug up to lend credibility to the current accusations that Trump would address military in such a manner.

But by not coming forward and denouncing the rumor he perpetuates the story by omission which is purposeful in my opinion.

Not for a bit of at all (Jennifer claims most military professionals do not want to speak on this).

Republicans are still trying to play by Marquis de Queensbury rules in a cage match era.

Right on (no pun intended) and that would make a great tagline. That said, it is the Dems most in need of severe behavior modification. Scary lot.

History has shown that Afghanistan cannot be conquered...hell, even Alexander the Great couldn't do it.

We never stood a chance with Bush and Cheney running the show, with the rules of engagement that tied our soldiers' hands. Nation building is a fool's errand.

Any military strategy that does not include obliteration of the poppy fields is doomed to fail. By various accounts, Afghanistan produces 80-90% of the world's opium supply.

I can see how Trump would have rankled these generals, whose asses are kissed daily, and their pronouncements are met with fealty and awe.

Don't get me wrong, there are numerous generals that I served with, and respected greatly, GEN Al Haig was one of those. Add LTG Jay Garner and BG's Johnie Forte, Jr. and Archie Cannon, that's a good start. For good measure, I'll mention Air Force BG Jim Albritton, who commanded the 50th Tactical Fighter Wing at Hahn AB from 76-78.

I got to know then-Colonel Albritton very well during Tac Evals, because I usually spent the entire time in the Wing CP as the Army Liasion Officer. The only other officer with a TS clearance was the Battery Commander.

I'll never forget my first Tac Eval. I was briefing the Wing Cdr on our Chaparral/Vulcan positions when an NBC input was dropped on him. His "expert", the Base Disaster Preparedness Officer, recommended Alarm Red, i.e. full mask and protective gear outside.

It just so happened one of my extra duties was NBC officer for my battery. You can just imagine the reaction when this Army 2nd LT spoke up, "Sir, may I make a recommendation?"

My recommendation, with the reasons why Alarm Yellow was the proper course (no masks or protective gear) was well received by Colonel Albritton. It was also received well by the NATO team chief, whom I could see nodding in the background.

Fifteen minutes later, Col Albritton's voice could be heard throughout the Wing CP: "as long as I'm in command, anytime there's an NBC input, I want that Army Lieutenant up here!"

That was one of my few highlights from a relatively undistinguished military career. lol

Lucky fellow. Might have caused some confusion if the Fuentes and Trumps were traveling together, though.

The Mongols did.

You’re right, the Mongols had the most lasting impact. The numerous invasions of Afghanistan have bred a people that are warlike in nature, out of necessity. Add the Islamic influence, and you have a society that is not meant for civilization as we know it.

And Afghans with Mongol features are looked down on and discriminated against, and the Taliban has massacred many of them. Complicated sh!thole. May the Taliban drown in it.

Fuentes unequivocally denied The Atlantic’s report last week, a huge blow to the establishment media narrative. Fuentes personally briefed President Trump on the weather situation that led to the trip being canceled. He is also a close personal confidante of former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly. “You can put me on record denying that I spoke with The Atlantic,”

The Atlantic lied about Sarah Palin too... Most of these 'nose in the air' liberal rags are worst than the National Enquirer when dealing with traditional Americans. In the Jim Crow South newspapers and magazines treated blacks the same way. They were careful what they said about powerful whites - but didn't give a damn about fact checking when a story slandered a black person.

The Atlantic's great when they're kissing the butts of white liberal 'elites' OR any of the elite's pet victim groups...but not so much when they're reporting on 'deplorables'... Eff em'...
