Perhaps you should pray for the Lord to give us the strength and resources to fight what we know is going to happen rather than pretending that it's not going to happen. I'm not particularly religious, but have always heard that the Lord helps those who help themselves.
Here's what's in the Bible:
Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.Jeremiah 17:5-8.Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
This exact phrase doesn't occur in the Bible, but is quoted so often people might think it is. It might be inferred by combining many points. I used to have tons of them until I really began searching for them. Online Bible is a real handy place to search. Lists all occurrences of any given text, free to use been around for many years.
Judges 6:13 | And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
God doesn't always agree with Man's plans.
