On Wednesday, Prudes family released a video of the incident that occurred in March. Protests have erupted as a result of the release of the body cam footage.
The video showed Prude naked, unarmed and handcuffed on the ground. He began spitting at the officers, which prompted them to put a hood over his head. Union officials confirmed the hood is meant to protect police from germs. Prude sat up and continued to yell at the officers. The officers then pushed him to the ground. One officer appeared to push his head to the pavement for several minutes, until they realized he was not breathing.
A medical examiner reported the death was a result of homicide as well as intoxication from PCP.

Drugs are a dangerous thing if used improperly.
Homicide has a legal definition that does not always equal murder in the first degree. It simply means death came about fully or partially from the actions of another. It does not say whether that action was intentional, due to negligence,or wholly unintentional. The officers may very well not be charged. If charges are filed and it goes to a jury part of what will be determined is how much Prude’s own actions contributed to his own death.
Prude: the death was a result of homicide as well as intoxication from PCP.
George Floyd: the death was a result of homicide as well as intoxication from Fentanyl.

Who released the body cam footage? This shooting happened in March. Also the hood that Prude was wearing was a mesh hood. He could still breathe in that thing.
I know Prude’s family is grieving. They are the one’s who called the police because they couldn’t handle him. To blame the police for using the tools and techniques they were taught is wrong. Maybe they should change the techniques. Maybe the police should just throw up their hands and walk away so as not to offend the family if something bad happens when they try to subdue their crazy family member who is full of drugs.
“Maybe the police should just throw up their hands and walk away so as not to offend the family”
The only problem is if he then hurts or kills someone or even kills himself there are probably 30 or 40 attack lawyers that will then sue the police for inaction.
