There were accomplices
There probably were accomplices who helped him flee. Not too bright, though, since the OJ/Mafia way of dealing with a situation like this is to surrender peacefully with aid of an attorney and fight like Hell in court. In Portland, especially, that would have been a good idea, with a strong chance of getting one or two Antifa/BLM plants on the jury.
I see the shooter’s ending was mostly peaceful.
