On some of the local Boulder/Denver area websites posting versions of this story, commenters say the boy deserved it for sporting a Trump sign, or mock him for being a delicate snowflake from the mere fact that he reported it.

One claims it's obvious that the incident NEVER happened (I'm guessing this is because all Trump-haters are such peaceful, gentle people) and says that the story is Fake News and must be a Russian plant.
