They can be rebated for past taxes they paid.
Maybe they should put a tax on everyone’s paycheck in order to pay some of the rent for the tenants. Many of them who are taking advantage and not paying because they can’t, but because they don’t have to. Why not spread the pain around a bit by taking money out of yours and everyone’s pay check? Can’t have that can we. If everyone had to suffer then their would be a rebellion. But when it is only one class of people then no one cares. Kind of reminds me of what happened in Germany during WW2.
Where is the legislation to do that. It does not exist and it is not in the works. And I don’t believe that it ever will be.

Dems have run out of cemeteries, so they will boost their rolls by canvassing for the dead cat vote...

Socialists are over in the other room.
Maybe they should put a tax on everyones paycheck
.
.
.
No more taxes EVER!
Well if you believe that landlords should have to provide homes free of charge while being charged then I guess you better head over to the other room.
Pretty sure congress has to be involved in passing a new stimulus and pretty sure they tried cramming a bunch of bullshit into the bill that funds their leftist bullshit causes and costs us more than a measly ONE TIME check would be worth.
Sorry about your friend but people should never have put themselves into a situation where their entire life depends on a one time government check.
this thread is people complaining about POTUS talking too long and one person complaining their friend is not getting another government welfare/stimulus check. wtf is happening to this website.
Should have seen this coming with all the Covid posters on here months ago pushing the lie about social distancing and masks being our savior.
I also did not think his rally was “too long.” It was great and I was transfixed every minute of it. Almost 2 hours! Trump’s energy and humor. . .loved it.
The POTUS, Trump Massive Rally is Back!!! Instead of a packed people arena of 20,000-30,000 Trump supporters...we now have a packed airport hangar with about 5,000 Trump fans inside and another 30,000 outside (Brietbart Photos). And....THEN....Trumpie hits home run after home run.....MAGNIFICENT!!!
As for Democrat, 2020 POTUS Candidate, Biden, the best this idiot can muster up is meeting with a rabid Black Racist, Jew Hater, Christian, Hater, America,Hater, Jacob Blake, Sr, and a few family members where religion may be present, but crime, drugs, cop haters rule the roost and wife Jill go to a church where none but a paltry few folks are there to listen to Democrat, Low Life, Joe Biden make a fool out of himself with every word he utters!!! And to boot old Joe Biden needed to sit down and rest ans he got won and burnt out from doing nothing!!! And, some, folks want this misfit Biden, to be the POTUS....You gotta be kidding me!!! Go Figure!!!
Go Trump, Go, Pence, Go, GOP!!! Folks...Trumpie in North Carolina for a massive airport Rally on September 8th, 2020. Be there by the tens of thousands!!! Do it!!!
"sometimes the test is not to find the answer. It's to see how you react when you realize there is no answer."
That said, I do not even see many of the right questions being asked, here.
1) What is the magnitude of the root problem? That is, how many residential renters really don't have the money to pay the rent for their primary residence?
2a) At present, how many residential rentals are 60 days or more past due? (This will be a bigger number than "1".) (Yes, I pulled 60 days out of my rear. Please feel free to recommend a better time period for this question!)
2b) What % is this of total residential rentals?
3) If the renters from "1" are eventually evicted, what are we to do with these people? (For the purposes of this discussion, I will assume the "difference" number people between "1" and "2a" will come up with the rent, if large scale evictions begin.)
4a) If non-payers are evicted, who the heck is going to replace them? In my town, I'd say the net answer is "nobody". We already have significant numbers of unoccupied residential rental properties. (As a wild guess, I'd say at least 20%.) It seems this would lead to a serious depression in rental rates, until things level out.
4b) What is a typical cost of a non-eviction vs. eviction & no new renter? (Expression as a % of normal rent might be the best way to look at this. Please estimate for the general case.)
4c) How many landlords does "4a" put out of business, vs. a temporary ban on evictions?
5) What would be the political cost of large scale evictions and homelessness, and what are the long term economic consequences of that political loss to "our side", both in general, and to landlords as a group?
I'll go ahead and take a crack at "5": IMO, Trump and the pubs get smashed, the long term economic consequences are very bad, and landlords as a group suffer more harm in the long run than Trump's eviction bans will cause. I should point out that with the left in control, their eviction bans and other policies, even assuming a COVID-19 vaccine or cure is found, will most certainly be far more onerous to landlords than anything Trump might do. Trump is, or was, among other things, essentially a landlord, and I find it hard to believe he has no concern for landlords.
I am not connected to the rental business and have never been a renter, so, it is likely I am missing other hard but necessary questions. Additionally, some of the above can probably be better put.
Sometimes, there is no good answer, only a least bad answer. How do we react to that?
This is not about small landlords having to suffer a bit. This is about them being totally ruined. Left penniless and homeless. All of the property eventually being seized. Why not declare a tax on all paychecks to pay the rent of these people. How can you possibly think it moral or constitutional to put this all on landlords. You know the old saying “First they came after.... And I said nothing. Then “finally they came after me....
Even here on FR there are so many socialists that it blows my mind.
Apparently you’re not aware that Congress is still on their month + vacation? Nancy’s getting her hair done in San Francisco. Congress is responsible for the budget! The president will vote on it once it’s passed...by CONGRESS!
Carrying out legislation:
As the head of the executive branch of the federal government, the President is responsible for ensuring that all the nations laws are faithfully executed. In other words, the President carries out the legislation enacted by Congress but cannot initiate legislation himself.
How Washington Works::
https://www.dummies.com/education/politics-government/washington-d-c-constitutional-duties-of-the-president-of-the-united-states/
A PRESIDENT CAN . . .
* make treaties with the approval of the Senate.
* veto bills and sign bills.
* represent our nation in talks with foreign countries.
* enforce the laws that Congress passes.
* act as Commander-in-Chief during a war.
* call out troops to protect our nation against an attack.
* make suggestions about things that should be new laws.
* lead his political party.
* entertain foreign guests.
* recognize foreign countries.
* grant pardons.
* nominate Cabinet members and Supreme Court Justices and other high officials.
* appoint ambassadors.
* talk directly to the people about problems.
* represent the best interest of all the people
A PRESIDENT CANNOT . . .
* make laws.
* declare war.
* decide how federal money will be spent.
* interpret laws.
* choose Cabinet members or Supreme Court Justices without Senate approval.
