Attorneys for former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin are requesting the dismissal of murder and manslaughter charges against him for the death of George Floyd. They're using the police training manual as justification.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department training manual, officers are shown how to subdue violent or resisting suspects by placing their knee on the neck.
Analysts and attorneys at Court TV explain. It's worth a full watch:
"From coast-to-coast everyone, absolutely outraged, especially by that fact, the knee on the neck. Well, guess what folks, take a look at what you're looking at right here. That is from the police training manual," attorney and host Vinnie Politan said. "Where this all comes from is from a motion to dismiss. A motion to dismiss that was filed by Derek Chauvin's attorneys saying that the knee on the neck is part of his training as a Minneapolis police officer. And there we see it in the manual on the left and on the right is what we all have seen in the video of Officer Chauvin. So, is this a game-changer?"
"This one is absolutely shocking. I mean, this is what the whole story is about. This is what outraged millions and millions of people, this is what caused the protests. It was the knee on the neck...and now the defense is saying dismiss the charges because the knee on the neck is right there in the police training manual," he continued.
So why did Chauvin continue holding his knee on Floyd's neck after he became unresponsive?

p
There were countless outraged Freepers when the story first came out.
I’ve seen this, why is this not noticed ?
We’re on to the next thing already ?
People are on trial. wtf ?
Place the suspect in the recovery position ....
Wearing a mask to bed after hiding under your sink in fear could have that effect.
Yes there were. And it looked like a NASCAR door pull in their hands.
“Absolutely Shocking”
I think the Free Republic got the jump on this story months ago. I recall somebody posting this was in their training manual. Not sure if I am absolutely shocked, should I be.
I still have some questions about what I saw, and about whether they knew each other. But its looking better for Chauvin all the time. They’ll probably drag this thing out until people have forgotten, then try to get him to cop a plea, and then finally drop it. But you notice they prosecutors kicked the can way down the road. That gets us past the election.
The guy overdosed, not even sure why this is germane. Charges should be dropped.
Plus the fentanyl. At the time I remember reading, and seeing photos, of cops using the exact same method in many other places.
...and “once in handcuffs”
Perhaps they need to charge the leadership of the police department and the city with murder as well. After all they trained these officers to treat Americans like animals.
Floyd killed himself by overdose and it there is no way a murder charge will stick.
So why did Chauvin continue holding his knee on Floyd’s neck after he became unresponsive?
This has been known for a very long time, how is it shocking? Besides, he died of a fentanyl overdose.
In reality, the people's perception of the Police drastically once the young and Bernie Sanders fools vote in Socialism and dedicated Socialists rise to the top. And the Police morph into the old NKVD mold. At the sight of them or the mere of their name, their bowels will turn to water. They will soil their clothing.
White guilt can be found everywhere.
I am “absolutely shocked” that something that has been known for a long time would be posted with that title.
George Fentanyl.
