A Democrat even kookier than her is running against her. Apparently in the CA primary system the person with the second highest number of votes gets to run against the one with the most votes even if they're in the same party.

The Republican, John Dennis, came in a distant third. It appears to me that he won't be on the ballot.

Well, if she should lose to the other kook Democrat she would no longer be Speaker. That would be cool.
