The concept is conquest. He wants to lead the Ummah, Iran hasn't been successful, Isis is gone, why not Turkey.

Turkey seems strong, but there are serious cultural, racial and political fracture lines running down to the bedrock. Being involved in a war, while at the same time experiencing a bad economy has the potential to break Turkey apart. While i don’t look forward to more chaos in the ME, i do look forward to seeing the end of Turkey’s present government.
