Kyle Rittenhouse Worked As Lifeguard In Kenosha On Day Of Shooting, Cleaned Graffiti Off Local School After Work: Legal Team (John M. Pierce)

Kyle Rittenhouse was working as a community lifeguard in Kenosha on the day of the shooting, went to clean graffiti off a public high school near the Kenosha County Courthouse after work and did not carry a gun across state lines, according to a statement from his legal defense team released on Friday evening.

=====

He continued: "Later in the day, they received information about a call for help from a local business owner, whose downtown Kenosha auto dealership was largely destroyed by mob violence. The business owner needed help to protect what he had left of his life's work, including two nearby mechanic's shops. Kyle and a friend armed themselves with rifles due to the deadly violence gripping Kenosha and many other American cities, and headed to the business premises. The weapons were in Wisconsin and never crossed state lines."

So...at 17 there is prohibition against open carry. But, the government can charge this ‘kid’ as an adult for this self-defense incident...

Nothing upside down about that.

“he worked as a lifeguard PRO BONO....”

I believe lifeguarding was his PAID day job. He volunteered to clean up graffiti after work.

The argument that an act was completed in self defense is considered an affirmative defense in court. The defendant stands accused, the state presents evidence of culpability, and the defense presents evidence of self defense to blunt and excuse the alleged illegality of the act. It’ll take a while. This has trial written all over it even if the prosecution sees the defense’s point. The state will let a jury decide if the required elements exist, and if they are pervasive enough to negate the charges.

Probably because he actually IS a patriot.

“Even if he is found innocent of all charges, Rittenhouse will be spending a lot of time in jail.”

That contradicted itself. How would be spend time in jail if found innocent of all charges??

> The “open carry” law doesn’t apply on private property. <

I agree. But from the video I saw, Rittenhouse appeared to be in the street at least part of the time. Is that correct?

I suppose it would be like a 12-year-old driving a car on private property, with his dad sitting right next to him. No laws are broken. But should that kid venture onto a public road for whatever reason, then the cops can get involved.

Unlike the majority of the folks here, I don’t think Rittenhouse is going to get off Scot-free. Too many Wisconsin Democrats want his hide. His life is going to be miserable for quite some time to come.

he’s in the hospital but up and about bragging on social media about how he should have killed Rittenhouse, taking pics with another white trash pos “friend”, I assume the DA will never file charges against this convicted felon out in the streets rioting WITH a fire arm.

Notice I said jail, not prison. I doubt if Rittenhouse will be given bail. From what I’ve read, one of the charges against him is first-degree murder. He won’t get bail on that.

So Rittenhouse will sit in jail for months and months until his trial starts.

Side rant: The Constitution guarantees you a speedy trial. The Supreme Court has ruled that “speedy” means within six months. How is that speedy? So an innocent person can sit in a jail cell for half a year until his trial comes up.

That’s a bunch of baloney, to be charitable.

Kyle is on the cusp of the greatest adventure of his life, doing things and meeting people and opportunities most young men can only dream about.

His actions were heroic, and he is going to rightfully get to live the life of a hero.

A good kid who had poor judgement at a critical time.

"As Kyle proceeded towards the second mechanic's shop, he was accosted by multiple rioters who recognized that he had been attempting to protect a business the mob wanted to destroy.

By what route was he proceeding?

Where was the other person he was with earlier?

If he was walking down the street or the sidewalk, he was drawing attention to himself and by a crowd where it was likely that others have weapons. It's apparent by the attorney's statement that Kyle was unaware of what would occur in that situation.

That's why teams are so important in situations like this. They work together and provide feedback to each other at key decision points. Even just providing the basics (objective, contingencies, etc.) in a short briefing at least gets people on roughly the same page.

So Rittenhouse will sit in jail for months and months until his trial starts.

He's currently in a juvenile detention center. Probably segregated from others for the time being.

Are we ever going to get the dullards in the American public to become informed of the criminal backgrounds of the thugs who attacked Kyle and tried to kill him?

Do we have to pay for ads saying so? Then let’s do that.

May educate the anti-Trump women voters who think his tweets are harshly worded.

Do they really want these criminal, violent social justice a—holes creeping around their lawn shrubbery in the dark at night trying to pry open the window to their bedrooms?

I’m not arguing against that! What I am saying is that his buddies set him up for failure. Not on purpose, of course. But they set him up for failure nevertheless. That makes him a patsy.

They gave a 17-year-old who is untrained in mob control a rifle. Then they put in in the front lines against a mob. That’s crazy. If I had to face a mob, I’d want older folks with me, folks who’ve seen a bit more of life.

But as they say, your mileage may vary.

“Even if he is found innocent of all charges, Rittenhouse will be spending a lot of time in jail.”

Are you saying that he will be committing future crimes that will cause that to happen? A guy who does community work in places he doesn’t even live?

What kind of an @$$ are you?

Why the vulgar language? I can understand it on liberal websites. Those guys have all sorts of mental issues. But why here on FR? We might not all always be on the same page, but at least we’re reading from the same book.

So if I’m very wrong, please show me where. I might even learn something! But I’m sure you know that insults never help argument.

As far as the jail thing goes, please see my post #30.

There is far more to the legal system than this. A grand jury hasn’t returned a bill have they?

Pretty hard to ‘conceal carry’ a rifle that large.
