A young New Jersey woman has been slapped with a $2,500 fine for police overtime costs after she set up a “small, peaceful Black Lives Matter protest” at the end of July, according to a report.
Emily Gil, 18, who graduated in June from Bergen County Technical School, failed to properly warn authorities in advance about the event, NJ.com reported.
Gil believed that a shortage of affordable housing options in her neighborhood was a racial issue that should be brought to the public’s attention through a 30- to 40-person protest, according to NJ.com.

A”shortage of affordable housing options”?! This little communist topic is one that grates my nerves the most. Nobody wins with “affordable housing” except the asshole politician who “made it all possible”.

There is no “affordable housing” in my neighborhood. That is why I live here. If I wanted to live in the Ghetto I would move to one.
I have spent a lot of time working on public housing projects in Minneapoistan and St. Paul over the years. Not interested in having one near me.
While on a certain level it feels satisfying to see this, I am not so sure I agree that towns should be able to issue what amounts to a fine for people holding protests. It isn’t hard to imagine Democrat mayors arbitrarily using these laws against conservatives.
It’s in the contract negotiated by the Democrat city government with the Democrat police union. This is what you get, Democrat teenager educated in Democrat-union-run schools. You could write a letter to your Democrat housing authority or your Democrat governor ...
Ridgewood NJ is a very wealthy town in NJ; I was surprised they even had a demonstration, unless it was just going to be wealthy white kids virtue-signaling.
There will be no ghetto built there.
The issue here in NJ is not just to fill the working areas with idle Dem voters - it is to attach them to viable hosts as their own cities are broke. Most of our services are paid for at the municipal level here in NJ (”home rule”), and the state and county subsidies are drying up - the gibsmedats need other hosts to provide all their “services”.
