People need to want to know what the truth is, what the actual facts are, in order to see. If someone rejects out of hand anything that is new, or from an different source than their usual sources, or presents a different view than what they already believe or different than their mental idea of what reality is, then they will never get out of their tiny little mental cages.

A person needs a bit of humility and the understanding that “I don’t know everything, there is more to know, others may know more than me sometimes, and some of what I believe may be wrong” in order to learn anything at all. A thirst for truth is vital, which takes some humility.

Exactly.

And a lot of these codgers have built extravagant sand castles in their mind and nothing can penetrate the walls.

Their pride will not allow it.

Just look at Puker. All of a sudden he is talking about Duham not having anything to do with Q or Sessions. Not too long ago he was all like 'Durham ain't gonna do nothin'. He's a derp state derp sent in to bury the investigation'.

Now he hears footsteps and is on team Durham. Funny how that works.

I call this the "I knew it all along" syndrome.
