Yep. In both cases, I just saw the R’s running their internal D member against the D party.
This kind of nonsense is why I left the R party about 15 years ago. I’m an independent now, to the right of the R party. I love their platform, but they don’t honor it. Well, trump does. But then, the party doesn’t really seem to like him.
Slowly, but surely, they are being replaced by a new generation of young, sharp Republicans. It’s still a work-in-progress, but I believe by the 2022 mid-terms, this transformation should pretty much be complete.
In a way, we needed to ‘blow up the team’ in those 2018 midterms, to start the process of rebuilding the party. I think this convention was an excellent “coming out party” for the new GOP.
