I've never been to Israel...and have never flown El Al.However,I've read that at Israeli airports there are about a dozen layers of security...starting when you enter the airport's parking lot.Plain clothes agents pull people aside and grill them,look in their bags,etc,etc.

IIRC terrorism hasn't been a factor at Israeli airports,or on El Al,for decades.

Israelis profile (oh the horror!) at Ben Gurion Airport. It’s subtle, unobtrusive and phenomenally effective. I always feel safe.
