Agreed. If all the politicians and police were doing their job, none of this would have happened. The police have their hands tied, so they’re not quite as responsible.
"I was just following orders". I believe we are reaching the point where that is not going to fly as an excuse for watching innocent people getting assaulted (and worse) and their property destroyed. The police unions should be backing mass refusals by officers to obey stand down orders from politicians. City police chiefs are political animals, so I include their orders in this comment.
I know a lot of cops are doing their best under the circumstances, but battle lines are being drawn and hard choices will have to be made. I also believe that the good ones are going to throw in the towel and get out of LE and their replacements will be the type of people we do not want in those positions.
