I disagree. From what little I could see in the videos, he had good control over his weapon until he had no choice but to use it, and he maintained possession of it.
A video game freak likely would not have a weapon like that to begin with, and if he did, he’d be like in the games, just shooting away from the very beginning.
This kids life was in serious danger.
If this all turns out to be the start of CWII, this young man may very well get credit for the first two commie kills.

agree. I bet after being arrested for self defense, he may have second thoughts about who his “Blue Lives Matter” cop buddies answer to.....their political masters.

He most definitely had way more than a clue what he was getting himself into. He performed superbly, was disciplined, only engaged when he was attacked and only engaged the actual threats who were attacking him. He didn’t panic. He obeyed self defense laws such as retreating when able. This kid has drilled and trained.

"I was just following orders". I believe we are reaching the point where that is not going to fly as an excuse for watching innocent people getting assaulted (and worse) and their property destroyed. The police unions should be backing mass refusals by officers to obey stand down orders from politicians. City police chiefs are political animals, so I include their orders in this comment.
I know a lot of cops are doing their best under the circumstances, but battle lines are being drawn and hard choices will have to be made. I also believe that the good ones are going to throw in the towel and get out of LE and their replacements will be the type of people we do not want in those positions.
...or it could go to the guy in Austin who shot Garrett Foster - who had pointed his AK-47 at him.
That would make these dudes #2 & 3.

I watched David Muir and ABC NEWS last night.
Muir stated(paraphrased) Kyle was running, shooting at the chasers. They even added gunfire to the soundtrack of the short video.
Never showed past Kyle falling down. No attacks by the chasers.
A truly disgusting 'interpretation' of the event.
The MSM is 100% complicit in fanning the flames of this rioting.
Clearly showing the gun in hand.
OH! But there will be riots in the streets if we don’t put this kid in jail.
