Grant Baker could do us all a favor and skip the disinformation. Those of us who watched the live streams, and saw the interactions in real time know that a lot of what he is saying is nonsense.

The people at the gas station and the business next door didn't just wander up to it.

The people at the gas station were trying to defuse a tense situation. They repeatedly stated that they did not disagree with the protestors and were just there to protect the property. Isn't that what anybody with common sense would say in that situation?

And isn't it true that most people across the country agree with the idea that the excessive use of deadly force by the police is not a good thing, and that black lives, along with every other life, matters?

I agree, the report isn’t quite right, and everyone should be more careful. Here are my additions/corrections (not limited to this article):

1. The gas station “shoot me” video is at 6007 Sheridan Rd. and the crowd is moving North — I don’t see Rittenhouse in the gas station videos;

2. Rittenhouse is interviewed by Richie McGinniss at 5912 Sheridan, which is across the street 0.1 miles north — Rittenhouse appears to be alone at that point;

3. Rittenhouse is chased to 5821 Sheridan, another 0.1 mile North and back to the East side of the street, where the man chasing him is shot in the head;

4. We don’t know the time lapse between the interview by McInniss and the first shooting, but McGinnis told Tucker Carlson it was “earlier in the night.” It is possible to assume that Rittenhouse stayed on his own, wasn’t aware of the conflict at the gas station, and was set upon by the man who was killed after that man walked about a block beyond the gas station confrontation — but those details are not out yet. More time could have elapsed, during which the man took off his red shirt (or it could have been minutes later).

5. Early reports that the deadman threw a Molotov cocktail at Rittenhouse were wrong, he has a clear plastic bag in the gas station video. That is what he threw.

6. Some have said it may be important whether Rittenhouse had “permission” to guard a property — I don’t think that matters, since he was running away not guarding anything during the shootings

. 7. It would be good for Rittenhouse if one of the cops from the armored vehicles he talked to after the shootings “remembers” yelling at him to go home. Rittenhouse should take the 5th, but the cops can explain why the kid drove home, 20 miles South out of Wisconsin.
