I think he was in the right, but he’s kinda screwed.
1. He had to drive for 20 minutes to get there. That will be interpreted as “He was looking for a fight.”
2. He was under 18 and open carrying a long arm. I think WI has laws against people under 17 open carrying.
Add to that the fact that the WI government is pretty leftist, he is in a bit trouble. The fact that the scumbags he shot were just that - criminal scumbags - won’t mean a thing.
IF you can afford it, see if he has some funding websites. He’s going to need all the help he can get.
Here is what the government of Wisconsin says about the topic:
Persons under age 18 may not possess firearms for non-hunting purposes unless accompanied by an adult, except that persons ages 1417 who have completed Hunter Education can possess legal shotguns and rifles without being accompanied by an adult.Source
If one of the other people who spent the evening with Rittenhouse was an adult, then nothing about Rittenhouse's possession of a rifle was illegal. If Rittenhouse took the Wisconsin hunter education course the same thing is true.

Well, from some reports, he drove over there early - and was part of a clean-up crew that was trying to right/fix damage from the other two nights of rioting.
Lin Wood has been hired for his defense. Expect a payday from the MSM which have been smearing him.
