based on what i see in the article, at least one of the murder charges will be dropped. If he was being chased, knocked to the ground, and shot the people doing that to him, he was justified due to being afraid for his life. The skateboard is enough to kill a person if you hit the trucks against their head. The head shot victim may be another story. Not enough info to judge that one.
I wasn't going to comment on a third thread today, but I think you may have hit on the key to the case. IMO looking at the second two shootings, it's clearly self defense though he'd have some weapons charges to deal with since he can't legally possess a firearm in either WI or IL.
Hard to make out the video of the first shooting. Several posters have said that he was in a parking lot, noticed a rioter smashing the window of a car. He approached the rioter, words were exchanged, and he fired a warning shot over his head. That's bad, because there's no such thing as a legal warning shot except for Joe Biden, and firing in the air is the worst. The rioter threw something burning and he, maybe someone else, shot him in the head. Which began the pursuit the ended with the next two shootings. If the prosecutor can establish Kyle was partially responsible for provoking the incident, he can no longer argue self defense. My guess the 1st degree charge says the prosecutor thinks he can. Here's hoping the kid wasn't active on social media, anything he said can go to the reason he was out there that night, and cost him a self defense defense on the incident.

The “head shit victim” had just tried to hit him with a fire bomb, so...
