Yep. The school gets some of the money as the name is being used on the merchandise.
Back on the 90s by brother had a t-shirt business on campus. Cost 2K to license the school name.

Back in the 00s my brother did similar with a "So and So for Heisman" t-shirt business. But he and his buddies got a cease and desist. lol.
