I’m from Oregon. We rescinded our ratification of the 14th back in 1868, and many of the States who “ratified” ratified under duress. I’d hold that the prohibition is an ex post facto law, among other things, and if it turns out the Biden had fought for the Confederacy, and people insisted that because of this I can’t vote for him, I am just contrary enough that I might do so out of spite. A friend's mother has dimentia so bad, she does not have a clue where she lives, doesn't remember her dog and only occasionally remembers that my friend is her daughter (can't tell you her name though). A local tv station grabbed her for a person on the street interview about a local issue and she gave believable generic answers that if you didn't know better made you think she was actually aware of what was going on. I can't help but think of that interview everytime I hear Biden's "C'mon man".

The 14th amendment is a curious document. It is designed to try to force the Southern states to let black men vote while not penalizing Northern states which did not let black men vote.
