Absoulutely not. Lying to a federal investigator/agent is a crime, in fact a felony under 18 USC (United States Code) Section 1001, and can result in a fine and up to 5 years imprisonment.
You can be charged with this citation if you're a target, a "subject" or a witness. And it doesn't matter if you are not under oath.
Lying under oath is perjury under 18 USC 1621 and is also a felony.

I saw what you did there. The Supreme Court has already ruled that it is OK to lie to suspects. ;-)
