For many Americans, the enemy is the conservative patrimony of individual agency, traditional marriage, competitive achievement, historical memory, freedom of thought, expression and peaceful assembly, and the morality of public reciprocity. The handshake has been replaced by the clenched fist, a communist salute and emblem adopted by BLM. The virus of collectivism has taken hold among the young, and equality of personal opportunity has yielded to equality of forced outcome.
This is no less than a revolution of sensibility, aggressively promoted by the big digital platforms and the open sewer of social media where the scourge of rampant vigilantism, infantilism run amok and mob justice has infected the entire culture and eroded the principle of legal justice by the politics of indiscriminate revenge for evils real and imagined. Twitter, of course, has now become the major conduit for the neural filth of the nation to disgorge into the mainstream.
The responsible and literate individual is gradually disappearing into a featureless mass. The mob and its movers prevail. The result is an epidemic of iconoclasm (destruction of images and statues), antinomianism (rejection of laws and customs), and the degradation of rational thought. America’s foreign enemies and competitors can scarcely contain themselves as they watch the country implode, a pervasive leftist fifth column doing their work for them.

Just as it was in the 60's, though, behind all the demonstrations, violence, looting, and noise, it the same old communist party trying to sneak in the backdoor.

By now, Cockburn has observed several times that progressives seem very committed to attributing to Donald Trump sinister plans to do precisely what they have spent four years doing. Delegitimize an election? Not only did Democrats do that after 2016, but they spent $32 million of taxpayer money on it. The Times won a Pulitzer for delegitimizing an election!
***Just in the past month, the Times has put out more than 20 articles stemming from the insane Russian collusion conspiracy theory, and the next election is barely two months away. Yet now, Times writers shriek that Donald Trump is definitely, maybe, possibly planning to copy their tactics...
Now, to stop a second go-round, the Times is openly spouting the language of revolution. No matter how much of a mess the November election is (and with the massive, last-minute expansion of mail-in ballots, a mess seems almost certain), Donald Trump will not be allowed to contest any oddities in the November vote. If he does, the process will not be left to the courts, but to riot- er, ‘mostly peaceful protesters’ in the streets. Reread Bouie’s language up above: removing Trump isn’t a democratic process, but an anti-authoritarian one. Authoritarians are not voted out. They do not have disputes resolved by a neutral court system. They are only overthrown by force.
For the writers of the New York Times, democracy increasingly resembles a South Vietnamese village: It must be destroyed in order to save it.

Sadly, I know you are right. This Sunday morning I have been reading the words of Jesus in the book of Matthew. He endured the same kind of irrational hatred we are seeing now in the Democratic Party, and their supporters, who include the Main Stream Media, Big Tech, Big Corporations, Big Institutions, including those who now are indoctrinating our children in public schools and in the progressive churches. That leaves the conservative population, which includes the poor, the suffering, the helpless, traditional families, true Americans, and traditional Christians, helpless before the Godless mobs. Some of us believe Covid19 is a warning to America that God will not tolerate this level of Godlessness in our country anymore. Perhaps civil war will not happen but, something worse, if this nation does not repent and stand for the values it was founded upon. Personally, when I see the distortions of truth coming onto the TV news, I turn it off and pray that the scales will fall off the eyes of those who are blind to what they are setting up and who will not escape the suffering that is to come. Most of them are young and very, very foolish. It is particularly unbearable to watch the evil exploitation of an elderly, somewhat demented old man, Joe Biden, as they send him out to do much of their dirty work for them. Stealing money or other things of value from the elderly is supposed to be a crime. What about stealing dignity, reputation and making a fool out of someone at the end of life? That is the generation of “vipers” as Jesus called them that we are seeing in action right now. God help us to endure what could be ahead.
