I was south of Houston during Harvey. For a few days I was living on an island but never lost power. Only material thing I lost was my car.

Now my daughter lives a little further south than I did and said she won’t be staying if the storm(s) are coming there. I told her to be sure and get out before the mass amount of traffic. A guy I used to work with lives just NW of Houston and said he sat in traffic for 18 hours (to get 250 miles) fleeing a previous hurricane.

She should have a full tank of gas already. Battery charger(s) fully charged. Bag ready to go with water and snacks.

Was that Ike or Rita with the impossible traffic jams as the storm was bearing down?
