Former Vice President Joe Biden accepted the Democrat presidential nomination Thursday, but his speech drew fewer viewers than Hillary Clinton did in 2016, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research.
The Hill reports:
Biden’s speech was watched by 21.8 million people on TV, according to initial figures from Nielsen, beating out the early numbers for other major speeches at the convention earlier in the week. The figure, which does not include online streaming of the speech, is expected to grow when additional networks are added. […]
Still, the initial numbers mark a 21 percent drop from Clinton’s speech at the convention in 2016 when she accepted the Democratic nomination that year. It is also more than 38 percent lower than President Trump‘s acceptance speech at the Republican convention four years ago, which drew 34.9 million viewers.

The speech ran at 10 PM.....on purpose to keep the viewers to a minimum?
No - they were still splicing the 30 or 40 takes together...
Probably so!
And most of those viewers were tuned in just to watch him unravel and blurt out some gaffes. I didn’t think we’d ever see a blowout worse than Walter Mondale in 1984, but I think Biden’s going to top him.
I think the race will be over by October 1st.
President Trump is a ratings magnet. No one in politics even comes close.
When he started “The Apprentice” he was pulling in 20 million viewers every episode. Nothing on TV currently comes close to that number. Not even the regular NFL matches.
Trump’s acceptance speech will knock it out of the ball park.
His speech was a series of simple one liners..

Interesting that nobody’s talking about demographics...
Email cost them a ton of usage. If they can’t read a address it is shredded. Sent granddaughter a BD card, all she got was a ripped envelope no card or gift card, her mom is a mail deliver in their area. Happens AL THE TIME.
