Never heard of it.

We still have theaters?Yes. They're buildings where people watch movies, but that's not important right now.

We watched it recently with our almost 10 yo grandson. Hes super smart but we still thought it might be over his head, but he loved it! We followed up with Dumb & Dumber, which was another big hit. Now Im just waiting a few years to show him Blazing Saddles and my work will be done. 🤣

My still favorite scene is the kid giving Lee Alcindor grief for being a lazy bum.

Roger Murdock : [breaking character] The hell I don’t! LISTEN, KID! I’ve been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I’m out there busting my buns every night! Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes!

Joey:
You are Kareem. I’ve seen you play. My dad’s got season tickets.
Roger Murdock:
But just remember, my name is ROGER MURDOCK. I’m an airline pilot.
Joey:
I think you’re the greatest, but my dad says you don’t work hard enough on defense. And he says that lots of times, you don’t even run down court. And that you don’t really try... except during the playoffs.

Who remembers this scene? Bet even this one would be interpreted as racist since people now think there were racist undertones to “Disco Demolition” at Comiskey Park back then.

Airplane relaunched Leslie Nielson’s career. It also showed the comedic talents of Stack, Graves, and Bridges. It is as close to a perfect comedy as you can get.
