Very insightful analysis of the appeals of Marxism in a free-market society. I only disagree with one point: in the current resurgence of Marxism, it isn't the class who views itself as "oppressed" that is energizing this movement, it is the class of very privileged liberals who are attempting to assuage their collective guilt by destroying the very society that enabled their prosperity. It is a vicarious "oppression" that these people seek to eliminate.

Very privileged liberals have always been involved in pushing Marxism. Usually they get slaughtered when the revolution happens, but they are always in the vanguard during the “subversive” period that precedes that.

Good points, FRiend, but let me ask this:

Are the privileged liberals trying to assuage their collective guilt ... or perhaps indulge their individual narcissism?

It’s entirely possible that the two are not mutually exclusive.

Who would have thought mental illness would become the true plague of our times?

Yes, Fredrick Engels who collaborated with Marx, was a wealthy bourgeois who owned textile factories in Germany. And many of today’s privileged liberals want to assuage their guilt without losing their money... as a good communist would for the sake of equality. It’s called “having your cake and eating it.”

Basically, very greedy people with no inner moral compunction to not be hypocrites. To justify their hypocrisy the more thoughtful sophists will quote Martin Heidegger and say “contradictions exist at the deepest levels of reality.”

But I put if all down to luxury. It is a luxury to have these dilemmas and America is wealthy enough to have some important people think “transgender washrooms” is a serious problem. If many people were starving and ill these “problems” would vanish. No. America is wealthy to afford these insane indulgences and playing with lunacy: defund the police, set up homeless in hotels, men getting pregnant, put men in women’s sports, etc. These rich liberals will try to out match each other for the most insane, asinine ideas. The more insane, the more self flattery that you are a genius, a visionary, and artist before your time. Yes, it all centres back on themselves and they are wealthy enough to be place in important positions, usually in the Democrat party.

A wonderfully reasoned article that explains how smart-ass Democrats unleashed the mad dogs of Marxism onto themselves and the Country as a whole. These are the so called elitists who indoctrinated our youth for years on how wonderful and enlightened Progressivism is. Not surprisingly, the naive youth swallowed the utopian crap, hook, line, and sinker and are now rabid Marxists. A few remaining rational liberals realize they have now lost control of their Party, but they do not have a clue how to recover. Indeed, being weak backed liberals they have succumbed to their Marxist underlings. So, after trashing their own Party and the Country, it will be up to us to restore order.
