President Donald Trump blasted Republicans Wednesday on Twitter -- tagging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in a rare move -- for "allowing the Democrats to have ridiculous Post Office hearings on Saturday & Monday, just before and during our Convention" as Democrats revisit questions surrounding the selection process of Trump's controversial postmaster pick.
Under mounting concerns with mail-in voting and increased scrutiny in recent weeks for enacting a series of measures meant to streamline the Postal Service, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has agreed to testify at a GOP-controlled Senate hearing on Friday and a Democratic House hearing on Monday -- the first day of the Republican National Convention.
"Let them hold them NOW (during their Convention) or after our Convention is over. Always playing right into their hands," Trump said in a tweet, tagging McConnell.
However, it is Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which called on DeJoy to testify after Democrats demanded he do so.

Can always count on Bush League Republicans to undermine Trump and his America First agenda.
Demanded.
They demanded?
Did they stomp their feet and write a mean letter?
Everyone needs to find their damn spines.
mcconnell is a POS, always has been. He has done more to damage and restrain Trump then any single person.
Unfortunately, McConnell’s primary challenger lost.
Now, Mitch can get back to regular schedule of backstabbing on behalf of the CoC.
I blasted Midge, today, over this, too.
I called his office and asked why Midge ALWAYS plays the Dems hand, and never ours. Then, I said...I know why.
PURE nonsense.
We can’t get ONE GOOD investigation going on ANY of the FBI liars, FISA forgers, FDA/CDC liars, but, by gosh ol’ Midge is going to get a Post Master hearing going.
DeJoy better be clear that the post office can’t handle mail in voting.
It’s not his job to make liberal pipe dreams possible in a few months. Democrats can get off their a** and go vote.
There is no appeasing the deep state now. Your either all in or not Sen Mcconnell.
I thought the defense here was that the R’s get to present their side of the story in the Senate hearing and they won’t get that chance in the House hearing.
Also, is the House hearing legal? The Senate one is; it rarely adjourns. But did the House adjourn to a specific day (which is not this Saturday or even next Monday)?
Does the Speaker have the right to alter this day unilaterally?
The Turtle and the Administrative State UNI-Party morphs to their benefit. They put their fingers in the wind, monitoring constantly the shifting wind.
How do we survive? How do we swim under the radar and continue to play our voters and get the rubes to re-elect us?
There answer is to always throw us crumbs. Here you go you rubes. We gave you X. The dems would never give you X, so be happy you got X. And, shut the hell up!
Expect more? Keep dreaming. You’re damned lucky we gave you those crumbs.
If you push us we will reveal ourselves and join the dems Like Kasich, etc...and then what have you got?
I’m thinking the House hearing is not legal:
Unless otherwise provided by the Congress, the two Houses shall
(1) adjourn sine die not later than July 31 of each year;
Obviously the House agreed to reconvene after July 31 but it does not say that the Speaker can unilaterally alter the date.
The U.S. Senate is the most corrupt political institution on the face of the planet. Warlords in Somalian sh!tholes aren’t as brazenly corrupt.
mcconnell is a POS, always has been.
Ann Coulter has called for McConnells defeat. I agree.
Most Freepers slammed Ann Coulter recently when she called for McConnells defeat
I applauded her
Why is this guy even agreeing to appear? He should agree to appear only after Wray, Comey, Brennan and Clapper testify before the Senate!
Not going to be much of a convention this year so anything that detracts attention from it is bad news.
Because he was going to be subpoenaed so they want to get him in front of a friendly committee and try to control the narrative going into the weekend.
The post office is popular and the GOP is taking a beating in the media, and not just on cable news. Front page of my local had a story about it. For a lot of older people, the USPS is a lifeline that brings important mail and medications, And everyone is mad because DeJoy's ban on some OT for truck drivers has slowed down package delivery.
He's going to end up in front of an unfriendly committee anyway. So, why not make the best of it?
You want him? Well, OK, but we want someone else also.
Subpoenas don't work that way. Dems control the House so they can use the subpoena to compel pretty much anyone to testify. I suppose the Executive Branch could try to fight it, but like I said earlier they're taking a beating over the USPS and want to change the narrative. Trump fighting it out would be tactically and strategically stupid.
Trump is “blasting” Pelosi’s vote and hearing on Saturday and Monday.
Note that Trump doesn’t mention the Senate hearing on Friday. Leave it to the fake news to conflate.
