This isn't Clinesmith "flipping" as the story seems to imply. He "implicated others" by admitting that he forwarded the unaltered e-mail to the investigating agents and the DOJ lawyer who drafted the FISA request. So, that suggests that investigating agents knew the warrant request was bogus, as did DOJ. Rod Rosenstein signed the warrant request. Did RR know, or did his staff lie to him?
That doesn't mean Clinesmith ISN'T cooperating, but Durham's team doesn't leak and Clinesmith would be crazy to admit he was helping Durham. We won't know until another shoe drops.
Interestingly, the Judge appointed to this case is also a FISA Judge. I wonder how he feels about the FBI lying to FISA Judges?
Clinesmith was allowed to claim in his plea that although he altered the email, he believed it was accurate. That suggests he has given up the identity of who told him to alter the email.
