I have worked since I was 16 years old. Prior to that was babysitting weekends for younger kids in the neighborhood.
I am 57 years old now. Given current circumstances I have been toying with the idea of early retirement and just selling off the client list.
I’ve done my time, struggle, and tax payments. As my attitude shifts to one of real resentment, I want my cut of the money I was FORCED to provide for everyone else. And no, I don’t get PUA because my injury isn’t Covid related. Although I have thought about going to get tested and hoping for a false positive result.

If I were you, I would file and see.
You might get approved under current circumstances.

I called one employee to comeback to work. She refused because she didnt want to mess up her unemployment. In her case I can honestly say she missed out on close to $800 per week or more with tips. She left me in the awkward position of having to cancel those clients and help them locate another service provider. Which now equals lost clients! Sure, I will recover from this set-back too, but needless to say I am pissed. And no she doesnt have a job to come back too when the unemployment finally runs out. Option #2 is to report her. She could have come off unemployment for 6 weeks and by then wed be heading deep into the holiday run. Covid strikes again...she would be furloughed and could collect.
Report her to whoever handles your State's UI! If she refused to return to work, she is INELIGIBLE for unemployment benefits. You, as the employer, are at minimum morally obligated to report her, and in many States, legally required to as well.

The government locked down the country.
The President said he was giving people $400.00 until the end of the year.
$400.00 before taxes is fair.
Um, the States and Cities locked down the country, not the FedGov. (Although FDA statements aren't helping one bit.) And it's $400, PLUS up to ~$800, depending on where you live and how much you made beforehand. So an average of something like $1000 per week across the country.

Why would a waiter go back to work for 25% of the hours and 10% of the tips? We need to completely open for returning to work to make sense.
Thing is, though, is if work isn't giving you your full regular hours, you can file for partial unemployment. And if you received even a single dollar in UI for a week, you were eligible for the bonus $600 for that week.
That said, I don't know how Trump's free money is working, if certain people don't reach that $100/week threshold. I guess I'll find out in a few days, since I had my unit's AT the last few weeks, I get paid just under the max amount I can to be eligible for UI for those weeks. I think I get $11 per week for those two weeks from unemployment.

Only enough $ for about a month. Being retroactive, it. may end as the first checks go out.

The Big Blue Bailout Bill needs to be separate.

For Trump to be reelected, the people need to feel that they are doing well materially, so the $600 needs to go through ASAP.

If Republicans portray people facing hard times as lazy losers they will drag down Trump.

If they get a full package through it will include another economic impact payment.

... not sure if Dems like the payroll tax cuts. The Republicans don't even like the Payroll Tax cuts.
To: EBH
...yeah, I’d report that. Nothing pisses me off more than people abusing a system we shouldn’t have in the first place.

We have been struggling with trying live events, virtual fairs, etc. To date none of this, including the unemployment matches what we usually do live at a fair. yeah...lazy...for those that think so—go f yerselves...So now we live on $200/wk cause Governor of California can’t be bothered with letting us even have an extra $300/week saying its too much effort to plug in the numbers.
revolutions are caused by the lack of bread. The once great United States is no different.

Please, no state bailout money deals until the unemployment and stimulus is resolved.
She's holding ordinary people by the throat because this is all she cares about.
