The ice has been melting for 14,000 years. The ice use to be almost a mile thick over the land which is now New York City.

Geologist have found rock formations at the equator that originated at the North pole. Only an ice mass could have pushed them. They theorized that the earth at one time was all or mostly all frozen.

And the approach to the Hudson Canyon, well offshore, was beachfront property.

The ice sheet that covered most of the North American Continent was about five miles think.

Someone made the commend last week that since DeBlasio, NYC is not nearly as cool a place as it used to be.
