The Perils of Children Staying Home, Staring at Screens, and Being Confined

So much has been said or written about whether or not school children should be returning to on-site classes during the fall. Many voices on the right say that children's propensity for contracting the virus and having any lingering ill-effects is rather small.

Voices on the left, well, who can be sure what they're saying? Some have health concerns, but most seem to favor anything that will disrupt the nation and potentially cause harm to the Trump Administration.

Most will turn into pessimistic, helpless Democrat losers. Objective achieved!

My two teens are doing this as we speak. Both on their computers, “watching school” as they put it.

Both schools (one private, one public) are “live synchronous” so that’s something and better than the Spring.

But it is horrible and it’s breaking my heart. For the first time, I’ve done my children a REAL disservice by choosing to live in a tyrannical state (CA), which won’t even allow private schools to reopen. There are several lawsuits pending about this, but I don’t have high hopes.

Let’s also remember if they could keep the schools closed, and I suspect there will be a future shutdown ahead, then they have access to all the college and highschoolers to take to the the streets and resist Trumps re-election.

The computer crap is total bull crap

My 13-year-old has a very easy time with Adham barely does any work

My 10-year-old it does not work for and needs assistance from either me or his mother that needs in person or adult attention

If you got 5 to 9-year-olds in 1st to 4th grade you definitely need them in school or you can’t work

The liberals in the left and the Democrats are really showing some very dangerous seeds with the school shut down crap

One of my granddaughters started school today. In her bedroom at a desk interacting with a computer screen. Like something out of a bad sci-fi movie. My daughter sent a picture to me. The only good thing about it is that mommy can spy on the indoctrination that teachers practice.

This is racist, a child that has a stay at home (wfh) mom to take care of her is not fair.

Lol. Except my daughter works from her home, telecommuting even before the Covid-19 thing. She’s had several jobs like that over the last 14 years or so. One job she had was in an office, she was a contractor and began working from home. The company laid off everyone in the office but kept her. She’s moved around to several other states, and the telecommuting with other companies allows her to keep tabs on her daughter (she is very protective and does some home-schooling to supplement the school’s education).
