I know Texas has like triple our electoral votes, but split Arizona too. We've been invaded in the south by the parasites from Cali.

Texas entered the Union via treaty, since it was a sovereign nation. One part of the treaty allowed Texas to divide into as many as five states without the permission of Congress (which is required for other states). Some argue that this was abrogated when Texas applied for readmission after the Civil War.

The logic of all this gets a bit confusing. Lincoln argued the states’ secessions weren’t legally valid. But Lincoln was assassinated and Reconstruction was handled by Congress which declared that ex-Confederate states had to reapply for admission to the Union.
