An Illinois community is rallying behind two 13-year-old boys after their lemonade stand was robbed at gunpoint.

Jude and Tristan were selling lemonade in Peoria on August 7 when they were approached by two men, one who was holding a gun, said Officer Amy Dotson of the Peoria Police Department. CNN is identifying the boys by their first names to protect their privacy.

The men stole their cash box, which contained around $30, and fled on foot. The incident is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, according to police.

"The boys were just shocked, they couldn't process what was happening until it was over," Jude's father, Nathan, told CNN. "I got a call from police saying, ''Hey, your kids are OK, but they just got robbed.' I almost blacked out, I was just so scared I was trying to get there as fast as possible."

But when he arrived at the scene, Nathan found something he didn't expect.

Police officers had surrounded the lemonade stand, buying cups of lemonade and "paying maybe $20 each for it," trying to make the kids feel safe again, he said.

Like the old Soviet Union, people could figure out what was really going on by what was left out of the news reports.

In NYC or Seattle, these kids would be fined thousands of dollars for no business license, no sales taxes collected and blocking a city sidewalk/parkway.

The black assh*les are doing it wrong. You take 20 percent of the cashbox, and tell them you'll be back every hour.

Darn Amish.

Why can’t they squeeze their own lemons?

I would be a lot more impressed with th community “rallying around” the kids if the cops actually caught them and gave them a thorough wooden shampoo in the basement of the station house...

Lemonade stand run by white boys robbed by unidentified “yuts”.

Did they wear masks? If not, what did they look like?

Let’s ask Don Lemon for an comment since it was his second job type business that was robbed, and we must all speak out against Lemonade stand robbers. Right Don?

These boys were not “young entrepreneurs”, they were simply privileged whites, taking unfair advantage of their birth status. They deserved to be robbed.

And no doubt these slackers had their mom pay for the lemonade mix and sugar!

Disclosure - my mom paid for ours as well. When I was older my mom wanted me to pay a rental charge on the lawn-mower and snow-blower when we would go out and do the various neighbor’s homes.

My dad said as long as I paid for my own gas and put away the gear clean that was good enough. Chores around the house (including mowing and shoveling) I never got paid for. Never did get an “allowance”. “What? You want us to house you, feed you, AND an allowance!!??”

They never think long term.

That's the problem with ghetto culture. I tell punks to go long term, and get a job with government where you can rip off people with little effort and have money coming in constantly. Steal a cashbox, get $30, small pickings. Get a government job, and eventually get a pension for life. Pathetic low-IQ punks stealing from kids.
