Deep State Lawyer Kevin Clinesmith Texted ‘Viva la Resistance’ to FBI Colleague After Trump Won

Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who plans to plead guilty for falsifying documents in the investigation of President Donald Trump’s campaign, was found to have sent several anti-Trump texts after Trump was elected.

“Viva le resistance,” he texted an FBI colleague in November 2016 after Trump won when he was asked if he would serve in the Trump administration.

Clinesmith’s texts and the decision to alter the email were featured in the report issued by the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

Since Hoover died, they have never elevated anyone from within the agency to lead it. That plus the headquarters has been staffed primarily from the outside. I know several retired agents who are very conservative, are Trump supporters, and they are furious with Comey and with the “get Trump” conspiracy. I’ve know them for years - home towners. They point out how poor appointed leadership over the years has opened the FBI to political pressures that probably not happened if an FBI trained assistant director had taken over. They mention several who would been good directors but were never considered.

Therefore one can believe until shown otherwise that Clinesmith rolled or at least coughed up enough incriminating evidence up the food chain to move the investigation closer to the 7th floor if not to the White House itself.

The retired agents I know did not sign any NDA and talk freely. Of course, these are older guys like me and have been retired for maybe 15-20+ years. However, they still have some contacts in government, one does..

In fact, as critical as Horowitz’s report was toward Clinesmith for maliciously and willfully altering the documents used to justify spying on Page, he highlighted the errors of others, including “Case Agent 1,” thought to be FBI agent Steven Somma, as well. “When Case Agent 1 was explicitly asked in late September 2016 by the Attorney assisting on the FISA application about Page’s prior relationship with this other agency, Case Agent 1 did not accurately describe the nature and extent of the information the FBI received from the other agency,” Horowitz wrote.

“Case Agent 1 was primarily responsible for some of the most significant errors and omissions in the FISA applications,” Horowitz wrote, highlighting as well Somma’s mischaracterization of Steele’s prior reporting as credible, the failure to note that Steele’s reporting of a “well-developed conspiracy of cooperation between Trump and Russia” was contradicted by statements from George Papadopoulos, the failure to note Steele’s reporting of communications between Paul Manafort and Carter Page was disputed, the failure to note that Steele’s claim of Page meeting with Russian businessman Igor Sechin and Russian official Igor Divyekin was disputed, the failure to note DOJ official Bruce Ohr’s discrediting comments on Steele’s election reporting, and the failure to note that Steele’s sub-source Igor Danchenko disputed Steele’s reporting. Horowitz said he “did not find his explanations for so many significant and repeated failures to be satisfactory.”

Somma was also the agent who handled Stefan Halper, the individual who was identified as spreading some of the false information about Mike Flynn, Trump’s National Security Advisor who was illegally targeted by the FBI and ousted
