Anthony Fauci said Tuesday that the US could reach a point at which people no longer have to worry about the coronavirus "within the next year to year and a half." Fauci said his cautious optimism comes from the success of vaccine development so far, which could ultimately lead to herd immunity.

I don’t think we’ll have an effective vaccine mass produced and distributed for 30 or so months. I don’t like to think about how many people will die and be injured in the meantime.
Because it will die out on its own, just as it’s burning through areas of the country on it’s own. It doesn’t really care what we do. Sure a lock down will slow it, but when it peters out, it will be because there’s no more firewood. Most of the firewood is too green and damp anyway.
