She will be touted as "black" and probably has some black ancestry on her father's side (in Jamaica, not the US), but her skin color being other than "white" owes more to her mother who is from India.

But the Democrats have a knack for choosing awful people for the VP slot: Richard Mentor Johnson, Lyndon B. Johnson, Al Gore, John Edwards, Joe Biden, Tim Kaine.
