Kamala grew up in Canada mostly, just like Obama spent a good part of his childhood in Indonesia. Neither experienced much of the typical life of African American kids growing up in the US. Obama is Muslim if he has any religion. Kamala apparently is Hindu.

None of the short list women were appealing but Kamala may be the least appealing in terms of personality. I suppose Mazie Hirono or Nancy Pelosi would have been worse.
