Consideration should be given to a plan whereby every county or parish in the nation, by a majority of voters in each, each select a representative of the people who will travel to Washington to replace our current corrupt government officials in their entirety, unless otherwise reelected by the majority in their residing country or parish.
Such a plan, almost overnight would increase actual representatives of the people, not large special interests, by a factor of seven.
We the people would stand a much better chance of having legislation passed which was actually in our interest, rather than in the interest of big monied and powerful special interest groups or corporations. It would also flush many of the currently corrupted crop of legislators out of DC and greatly help to drain the swamp.
I think there is something to be gained by replacing the entire lot at one time. Such eliminates the problems seniority creates. I think, except on certain occasions, these new representatives of the people should conduct the majority of their duties from their home offices. I think there should be limits on the amount of time they're allowed to serve, FWIW.
I say do a Beruit on DC.
You wont hear Old Lindsey utter a word about Stephan Halper.
He speaks very carefully, and its like Halper doesnt exist.
Halper tried to get a job with the Trump Campaign, too
.
The only problem with that plan is you leave the unelected, unaccountable bureaucracy in place. Thats where the biggest problems lie. Changing the nomenklatura avails little, when the apparatchik remain.
The true power of the Leviathan lies in the tyranny of petty people, and their certainty, with just a little more power, they can achieve the Greater Good.
