Heck,I knew what you meant...

I don't like them because it has become a symbol of subservience. They are of limited value.

I work in a hospital and have to wear them all the time. I do so, and willingly for three reasons:

  1. Because my employer requires it

  2. Because it makes the frightened patients feel less frightened

  3. Because even if prevents harm or death to one out of 10,000 patients, it is worth it, because people and their loved ones don't come to my hospital to get sick and die of something they didn't come in with. They came in for something else.

This last one is worth discussion: I feel this way because I am in the business of helping to heal people. I can take the luxury of feeling this way, because the only one inconvenienced is me. One life out of 10,000 patients is part of my calculus. The President and our government should operate under a different calculus.

They cannot shut everything down to save one life out of 10,000. But that is what the Left wants to do.
