The first thing, is that the timing of such a remark, presuming the “n” word (can I still use that description?), is far too convenient, and I agree, this seems like some kind of set-up. No current member of the Republican party would utter such a disparaging remark and expect that the Republicans would not call for his resignation. If it is as presumed, the Republicans in Michigan, yeah both of them, need to issue a statement condemning his remarks, and indicate there’s no room in the party for such people, and demand his ouster.

Now that Gov. Whitmer has determined that a state of emergency exists, of systemic racism, does that mean she can take any and all measures to “correct” this racism? Like, preventing Republicans in her state from holding office?

If they can do anything, under the authority of a “public health crisis”, as with COVID19, they can do anything for any public health crisis. This will eventually lead to them declaring firearms as a “public health crisis”, and they will attempt to legislate behavior through a series of “public health crises.” The precedent has been set, and they will now expand the boundaries, for anything they wish. All it will take is some convenient “lawyer” double-speak, to somehow remotely attach a health crisis to said behavior. This is best exemplified by the Federal Government’s expansion of the commerce clause, to create utterly absurd definitions of the commerce clause.

Actually both house of the Michigan legislature are Republicans. Ineffective, but Republicans.
