Same in San Antonio, Tx. River Walk is now pretty much non-smoking so if you go up to street level to smoke, there is a bum in every doorway waiting to ask for a smoke. Usually not mental however and not too pushy.
There is some preliminary evidence that a nicotne receptor in the brain alleviate some schizophrenic executive brain function issues. Back in the day when I did my schooling...I had to serve in a mental institution. The patients used to smoke constantly. I always wondered why. Now that phenomenon is well known. If it pans out...ya gonna see lots of commercials for vaping and cigs...
