Explain, I’m genuinely curious.

Explain, I’m genuinely curious.

Mentioned in various places elsewhere, but here is a summary: Those who know both say that Sethi is more conservative. Those who have met both have been more impressed with Sethi than Hagerty. Hagerty thought that he had it in the bag until late, and didn’t show up at any events, whereas Sethi did. Hagerty finally responded with a scorched earth, dishonest and disingenuous campaign blitz. For example, Hagerty emphasized that Sethi helped Nancy Pelosi win the House by donating to the liberal group Act Blue. The truth is that twelve years ago Sethi’s wife gave $50 to a friend of a friend who was running for congress. Hagerty used things like this to cover up that he gave thousands of dollars to Democrats and GOP-e types (vid. Al Gore, Mitt Romney, etc.). Other examples could be given. After Hagerty refused to debate, he made scurrilous and untruthful charges late that left Sethi little time to respond. The so-called “nastiest Republican primary in the country” was due to Hagerty, not Sethi. Hagerty left a stench—a strong stench.

I still hope that Hagerty turns out to be a good Senator, but I have serious, serious doubts about it, and I have come to strongly question his character. Time will tell.
