Wait, so the test this morning was an antigen test that shows he’s had it in the past and has recovered? And the newer test is the one that shows he’s not currently infected? Am I understanding this correctly?

The antigen test is very, very quick.
Surprised even a VIP could get the PCR results so quickly.

If I remember correctly, the PCR test is slower but more accurate.

I haven’t rechecked, so my information may be outdated, but initially the signs were that the PCR tests were showing exposure, not merely infection. So, they could test positive earlier than the tests for whether you had COVID, and long-term after as well. It also appeared to test positive for folks that had been exposed to even viral fragments, and had not created an immune response.
