I have read that the US government intends to “leapfrog” Chinese space capabilities by having cheap, reuseable space vehicles. The US government is heavily subsidizing these operations, through NASA. It is part of the Space Force national strategy, and it would be insane that we’d spend all this money, and the Chinese would be able to steal the technology and gain parity in space, within a year. As it stands now, the Chinese are 20 years behind the US, in space. Musk had best begin weeding out the inevitable Chinese spies that are surely embedded within his company.

This is a national strategic advantage, that is expected to add an additional leg to the current nuclear triad. How space is going to be weaponized depends on who gets there first with strike and defensive weapons platforms.

Everyone needs to remember Boeing got almost TWICE as much as SpaceX did for a crewed launch vehicle and Boeing’s test was a total disaster. He does say weird things and pisses off the left and right, but overall he produces like few can.
